Riven: no voice with Windows XP (problem fixed)

Let's me explain how to solve problem I had with Riven under Windows XP.

1. Execute Riven... but nothing append !
Solution :
You should activate compatibility mode.
right click on riven icon --> Properties --> Compatibility
--> Compatibility mode : Windows 95


2. Sound test during installation works fine,
but no sound during intro and no voice during the game
(but backgroud sounds works).

Solution :
Go to Riven folder and open the file "mohawk.w32" with notepad.
Find the line with "fEnableAudioProxy=true"
and change it to "fEnableAudioProxy=false".
Save the changes and then Riven should run correctly.

avec Riven sous Windows XP.

1. Exécution de Riven... mais rien ne se passe !

Il faut activer le mode de compatibilité.
Click droit sur l'icon de riven --> Propriété --> Compatibilité
--> Mode de compatibilité : Windows 95

2. Pendant l'installation, le test du son fonctionne bien,
mais il n'y a pas de son pendant les deux premières intros
et il n'y a pas de voix dans le jeu
(mais les sons d'ambience fonctionnent).

Solution :
Allez dans le répertoire de Riven
et ouvrez le fichier "mohawk.w32" avec notepad.
Trouvez la ligne avec "fEnableAudioProxy=true"
et modifiez la en "fEnableAudioProxy=false".
Sauvegardez la modification et Riven devrait fonctionner normalement.

J'espère que cela pourra aider quelqu'un.

updated to XP and my wife and I have been fighting Riven for a year or
two and hated the thought of losing the challenge.
