If Riven is actually the subject matter of this newsgroup, someone sure
needs to monitor the contents. In any event, I am having a sound issue with
Riven.

I had Riven installed on my old computer, which used Windows 98 (se). I
installed it on my new computer, which is using Windows XP. After having to
select some information in the Properties file for Riven on my hard drive, I
finally got it working. However, the main sounds do not work. The ambulant
sounds are there, and the main sounds in the Setup test mode work fine, just
not in the game itself.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
John Sisker

I already wrote a solution for that, but it is no more available from google
You can find it at this place (thanks altavista)

Yves,

Thanks so much for taking the time to respond and for the solution. It
worked perfectly. Without your involvement, I would have never figured that
out.

Good solutions, but since someone sees fit to use my name and e-mail address
to ask their questions, this does concern me. I will attempt to get to the
bottom of this, as to why they are trying to steal my identity.

Thanks,
